So I tested my frame bag from Steve this weekend in the Karkloof. We had everything thrown at us. Heavy rain, wind, to much mud, and my frame bag kept everything perfectly clean and dry inside.

Dit is 'n baie veeldoelige sak, of jy gaan toer, en of jy net 'n korter typerk ry, hy dien 'n goeie doel. Baie maklik om oop en toe te maak terwyl hy vasgemaak is aan fiets. Of dit nou ekstra klere is wat jy saam vat, of sommer net ,n sak om jou ekstra warm goed wat jy uittrek in te sit. Veral met die wegspring in koue, is my grootste kopseer, waar sit ek die warmer klere in ? Hierdie sak werk perfek daarvoor. So jy hoef nie net lang trippies te beplan om so sak te regverdig nie.

I want to give a huge shout out to Steve Brown from @cycleafricabikebags who provided me with the MOST awesome and perfect saddle bag for the #Sedgefield500 race just completed. It was the perfect fit and size! 8L volume #Gravel Saddle Bag, it has long reflective strips down both sides (superb vis at night), weight around 400gm only in total. A bungee cord on the top for easy to reach Jacket or extra top when needed. Large and very strong Velcro straps to hold it securely under the seat and on the saddle post with 2 broad straps. High Viz pull-out inner bag and it is very very easy to wash. It also has a rubber underside for any íncase’ wheel touching and abrasion (the weakest point on ANY gravel bag and the death of many).
A very well-designed bag and 100% easy to see that it has been designed by a long-distance rider and the BONUS – it is proudly made in ZAR and therefore much much more friendly on the pocket at R1300

My wife and I have starting racing in the freedom challenge events, and while I am happy with more weight on my back, Sally likes to have a small pack which often leaves no space in the winter month for extras. The perfect compromise was to ask Steve to make us Custom Top Tube bag that runs the entire length of the top tube, enabling her to carry waterproofs and food for easy access. Steve was with us for almost two weeks as we cycled in and around Cape Town. He provided exceptional service to a large group of 20 Canadians. Our schedules seemed to change and Steve rolled with every change. He was always pleasant, punctual and somehow he managed to drive that van and trailer of 20 bikes where ever we needed him. No request seemed to be a problem. Steve suggested I modify the position of my handle bars. What a great idea. Relieved pressure I had been experiencing on my wrist. A motor cycle accident occurred just ahead of us on a major road. As a Canadian physician I felt obliged to stop and assist. Steve accompanied me and was calm, cool and collected. He was a big help in this critical situation. I appreciated his support and expertise. Steve also accompanied us up Table Mountain and was a big support for the group. If we were ever lucky enough to return to South Africa we would be checking with Steve first to see if he could be out guide. He was the best. We were sorry to say goodbye to him.
